Individual Therapy Individual Sessions By Appointment Since 1988 Jeff has specialized in creating collaborative conversations with clients that generate new possibilities for change. Austinites seek him out to discuss a number of life issues such as depression and anxiety, relationships, intimacy & commitment, sexual orientation & gender identity, family challenges & conflict resolution, coping with grief and loss, trauma, compulsive & addictive behaviors, stress & anger management, and parenting. Jeff uses a postmodern (also called ''collaborative'' or ''narrative'') approach in his conversations with clients. By carefully listening to each client's story, he strives to understand how they might make meaning of themselves, others, and the world around them. Through the use of effective questions and comments, his goal is to help each client gain insight, discover fresh ideas, reduce counterproductive thinking, and begin practicing new behaviors that lead to positive change. He is active in those conversations - not passive - and is respectful and goal-oriented. Since the year 2000, he has participated in a bimonthly consultation meeting with a dynamic, fun, and creative group of professionals who are some of the best therapists in Austin.
